Papua New Guinea has a wide range of unique traditional artifacts and handcrafts that play an integral part in our past and present cultural life. PAPUA NEW GUINEA HANDCRAFT EXPORTS offers collectors and dealers from around the world a reliable conduit for buying samples of genuine Papua New Guinean handcrafts and artifacts. Unlike some other PNG-based dealers touting on the web, we provide prompt attention to customer enquiries and we go the extra mile to help you get what you want.
We do not have a warehouse full of dusty artifacts. We procure to order, to make sure you get the best that is available. Photos on this website show examples of the types of items we can procure, and estimated prices. Once a tentative order is received, we supply a firm quotation based on what is available from our various sources of supply at that time. Bulk discounts apply to orders over USD$1000.
Due to variations in age and artistic design, items we supply may not be identical to the sample pictures, but will be of the same type, size and general appearance. In addition, we have an online GALLERY offering a selection of actual items for sale: these are often unusual or rarer items. We also auction interesting items from our Gallery on eBay, the online auction site ( www.ebay.com ). Our customers are located all over the world and you can read customer feedback comments from our eBay auctions.
Everything we sell is made by hand in PNG villages, and many of the items are actually used in the village before being sold. Nothing we sell is mass-produced in a factory. Please note that we do not specifically deal in antique artifacts. Most antique PNG artifacts are already circulating overseas, not here in PNG, and artifacts crafted prior to 1968 are no longer permitted to be exported from Papua New Guinea. While many of the items we procure from villages are well-used and may even be over 30 years old in some cases, we make no guarantees about age. Most of the cultural artifacts and handcrafts we sell are newly or recently crafted in the traditional style, using local materials.
SHIPPINGYour order is carefully packed in crushed paper and cardboard. In general we use the postal system to dispatch parcels up to 1.5 metres in length and 20 kilograms maximum mass, and air freight or sea freight for larger or heavier items.
PAYMENTWe accept payment via wire transfers, international bank drafts or cash by registered mail. All orders must be pre-paid before shipping.
